本剧根据斯蒂芬·金的同名科幻小说改编。讲述了一种病毒毁灭了世界上大部份人口，当仅有的一小群人挣扎着重建文明时，恶魔的力量威胁着美洲的幸存者们。 　　When a government-run lab accidentally lets loose a deadly virus, the population of the world is decimated. Survivors begin having drea ms about two figures: a mystical old woman, or a foreboding, scary man. As the story tracks various people, we begin to realize that the two figures exemplify basic forces of good and evil, and the stage is set for a final confrontation between the representatives of each.
